Miriam Blufstein was born in Lima, Peru and now resides in Miami, Florida, USA. Her ongoing quest for creative images and ideas take her throughout the U.S., South America, the Galapagos as well as Europe.

Miriam Blufstein’s images often involve large areas of simplified light and dark or as she would say, “I prefer mystery and subtlety over the obvious...my images are not meant to tell a story, but hopefully will stimulate the imagination of the viewer."

After finishing her undergraduate studies in Barry University in 1990, Miriam Blufstein opened an Art Gallery where she exhibited photographs and also photographed portraits at her studio.  Her portraits spanned a private and commercial portfolio such as “Town and Country Magazine” as well as campaigns and advertising at for clients at Bal Harbour Shops.

In 1993, she embarked on a new project where she worked with Dr Frederic Brandt, a top Miami dermatologist, where she co-created a line of cosmetics and sold at his office in Coral Gables.

In 2000, she went back to complete her MFA in photography at Barry University and while undergoing her studies; she embarked on several projects to include: various photography projects, exhibits, magazine portraits and more.  Her most noted portrait was that of artist Juan Fernando Bastos at her studio in Los Angeles, which was published  in the magazine Cosas in Bolivia ( see PDF ). Her work during this period also involved photography for an Italian Calendar, “L'Azienda agricola Di Meo”, a calendar which was sold widely all over Italy (see image).

More recently in 2009, Miriam went to the hotel Oasi Olimpia Relais, please visit the Gallery.
